Hi, hello! I’m so happy you’ve found me in this little corner of the world. I’m a to-the-point kind of gal, so let’s get into it, shall we?
My name is Mary Beth! I’m a happily married mom of three, and we live in Parker, Colorado. I love rain, the mountains, frozen Zatarain’s, and romantasy books. Taylor Swift and ‘90s country both have my heart.
I spent most of my life with a dysregulated nervous system—without realizing that’s what it was. I’ve been through domestic violence and sexual assault, race and ethnicity struggles, LGBTQ+ experiences, and a teen pregnancy. I’ve navigated religious trauma. I’m adopted, and I’ve adopted. Honestly, the list goes on. If you can experience something, I probably have.
When I found somatics, I felt like I had cracked the code. Since then, it’s been years of unpacking, unlearning, and healing. But I’m proof that this isn’t just trendy or woo-woo—it works. And it literally works for everyone. That might be my favorite thing about somatics. So much of healing and wellness is reserved for the privileged, but with somatics, if you have access to your body, you have access to healing. It’s a game changer.
I’m so glad I found this work and get to live a life where I know how to regulate. And the fact that I get to share it with the world? That means everything to me.
So listen—this blog will be full of thoughts, reflections, ideas, and experiences. I started it as a way to share my perspectives and my own journey with nervous system regulation. I’ll be downloading my thoughts and walking you through ways to begin your own somatic healing journey.
